Bio

Nick Arseneau is a Toronto-based upright and electric bassist, composer, and music educator. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts with honours, specializing in music, from York University in 2014 and a Master of Music in Jazz Bass Performance from the University of Toronto in 2016.

 

He performs regularly around Toronto and Southern Ontario with a wide range of bands on double bass, electric bass, guitar, drums, and voice. His repertoire spans genres including classical, jazz, rock, pop, folk, punk, ska, and math rock.

 

In addition to teaching and playing, Nick has composed several scores for independent and student films, and is a singer-songwriter with a handful of acts. At the age of 26, Nick has has already performed with some of Canada's top jazz musicians including Mike Murley, Ori Dagan, Chelsea McBride, Anthony Michelli, and Luke Maxim.
